Eating out.

The Kirkstile Inn.

Our favourite. A traditional Lake District Inn with great food in a fantastic location on the edge of Loweswater and with Mellbreak in the backdrop.  We love it here! Advisable to book in advance. Only a 16 minute drive from Kirkland cottage. Address: The Kirkstile Inn, Loweswater, Cockermouth, CA13 0RU.

The Ennerdale Brewery, Tap & Bistro.

Only a couple of minutes from the cottage in the car. Set on the same site as the craft brewery, this offers a nice atmosphere with homemade food from local suppliers. We’ve visited regularly and always found it to be really good!  Address: Chapel Row, Rowrah, Cumbria CA26 3XS.

The Gather Ennerdale.

The Gather is a community-owned and run café and shop in Ennerdale Bridge. It really is the heart of the community and is a perfect place for either a lunch stop or a coffee and cake. In the summer we often head there for ice creams and milkshakes. A four minute drive down the road. Address: The Gather, The Ennerdale Centre, Ennerdale Bridge, CA23 3AR.
